Google Maps comes to campus

The Google Maps Street View team came to the University of West Florida (UWF) May 30 and 31 to photograph the roads, paths and walkways on campus. One car and one tricycle were on campus, photographing a 360 degree view of every road.

“Google Street View is beneficial to current students, prospective students and visitors,” said Jay Massey, assistant director of web services for UWF. “Using a computer, Street View provides the same perspective as physically being on campus.”

It will take several months for the photographs to appear on Google Maps.
