Florida SBDC at UWF opens new Panama City location

The Florida Small Business Development Center at the University of West Florida hosted a grand opening for its new Panama City location on Tuesday.

As part of a statewide service network of more than 40 centers, the FSBDC at UWF is based in the UWF College of Business and maintains full-service offices in three locations, as of today. The Panama City center’s opening comes on the heels of the Fort Walton Beach location’s grand opening in July. The variety of locations provides accessibility across the Northwest Florida region.

“Engaging our business communities in economic development is a key mission of the College of Business at the University of West Florida,” said Dr. Timothy O’Keefe, dean of the UWF College of Business. “Opening the new Panama City office combined with the existing offices and outreach locations throughout the Northwest Florida counties positions us to provide top quality business consulting to start and grow businesses in our region.”

The Panama City location offers extended hours and workshop times, while being conveniently located in the center of the Panama City Mall.

Kelly Massey, regional director of the Florida SBDC at UWF, will continue in his role for the Fort Walton Beach, Pensacola and, now, Panama City locations.

“Our knowledgeable full-time business consultants offer diverse experience and skilled backgrounds to assist in growth acceleration, business basics, government contracting, business continuity and more,” said Massey. “This new office location will help us expand the quality, excellence and resources of the University of West Florida to the people who need it most and can impact the Panama City community.”

“Small and medium-sized businesses are the foundations of job growth in our region,” said O’Keefe. “Our Florida SBDC at UWF consultants are committed to helping them succeed.”

In addition to expanding locations, the Florida SBDC at UWF has added outreach services and trainings to Holmes, Jackson, Washington, Bay and Calhoun Counties.

Workshops at the Panama City location are now available for registration. For more information, visit sbdc.uwf.edu.
