First Annual UWF Argo Invitational Mock Trial Tournament

On Saturday, Jan. 12 the College of Professional Studies and the UWF Mock Trial Team hosted the first annual UWF Argo Invitational Mock Trial Tournament on the UWF campus. The competition included students from three universities, including two teams from UWF. The rounds were judged by attorneys and judges from the Pensacola area.

The event was a great success and showcased the UWF mock trial classroom, where two of the rounds were conducted. A team from the University of Central Florida won the competition. UWF student Michael Stallings, president of the UWF Mock Trial Team, won an outstanding attorney award. The competition helped to prepare students for the upcoming regional competition which will be held at the University of Central Florida Feb. 18-19.

Faculty sponsor Kimberly Tatum stated that the judges were very impressed with the performance of the students, and with the campus facilities, especially the mock trial classroom. The team plans to host this tournament again next year.
